The One Piece Kaido King Collectible Statue just dropped. Another fantastic collectible statue based on One Piece has been released by Tamashii Nations, this time depicting Kaido, The King of the Beast.
The One Piece Kaido King figure, which can be preordered on Sideshow for $170 and stands nearly a foot tall, captures the intimidating pirate’s dragon form with incredible accuracy, right down to the articulation of each scale. To further emphasize Kaido’s massive stature and power, the item also features a miniature statue of Monkey D. Luffy.
Over a thousand chapters of the One Piece manga have been written and drawn by Eiichiro Oda since it was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997. Oda admitted earlier this year how much effort it takes to craft such a massive world and story. He uses fan-made websites to keep all the minor but crucial details straight. Luffy is a young pirate captain with aspirations of becoming the next King of the Pirates. He leads a motley crew across the Grand Line in search of adventure and the show’s namesake treasure, One Piece.
Fans’ Imagination Ignited by Oda’s Masterpiece
With over 516 million copies in circulation worldwide. Oda’s masterpiece One Piece is without rival when it comes to the popularity of manga. Fans show their appreciation for the story by creating their own content. Especially cosplay, in addition to buying physical copies of the story. Kappy_w uploaded images of a gender-swapped version of the villainous Edward Weevil, and Taryn Cosplay uploaded a video of a Roronoa Zoro cosplay that highlights one of the Pirate Hunter’s defining characteristics.
There’s more for fans to get excited about than just cosplay and merchandise. Bandai Namco Entertainment, developers of the One Piece Odyssey role-playing video game, have recently announced downloadable content for the game.
The episode “Reunion of Memories” will take place after the main storyline of the title and will involve the Straw Hat Pirates visiting the realm of Memoria. Favorite characters like Trafalgar D. Water Law, Crocodile, Mihawk, and Whitebeard are hinted at in the trailer.
Final Thoughts On One Piece Kaido King
The live-action One Piece series, starring Iaki Godoy as Luffy, is also expected to debut on Netflix this year. Information about the first season’s episode titles and lengths, as well as the show’s budget and the challenges of adapting Zoro’s three-sword style for the big screen, were leaked by a prominent Twitter news account for the franchise.
Oda’s manga series is published in North America by VIZ Media. The anime adaptation by Toei Animation can be watched in its entirety on Crunchyroll or Netflix.
